Why I’m so passionate about building a sustainable future for the next generation.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Studio Suss.

This week I guest lectured at Inchbald School of Design, inspiring the next generation of interior designers to work more sustainably.

I was also lucky enough to attend the Platinum Party at the Palace for the Queen’s Jubilee, where I watched Prince William share his message of hope for the environment.

He spoke of the amazing and united generation of young people across the world who are spearheading the drive towards a sustainable future.

They are the reason that Studio Suss is fully committed to protecting our planet.

From collaborating with colleagues to set the interior design industry’s sustainability agenda to using recycled materials in our projects - our luxury homes are better for the planet, without compromising on style.

For example, this study area in a boy’s bedroom in our Hampstead project was made from recycled plastic, the side tables were locally sourced, the flooring responsibly sourced and environmentally paints.

Reflecting on a truly inspirational week for interiors and garden design 😍

It was an honour to speak twice at @clerkenwelldesignweek which has always been one of my favourite events.

On Tuesday I spoke about Sustainability and “The Circle of Design” on behalf of @interiordesigndeclares and learnt so much from the conversation 🌱

Yesterday I returned to discuss “The Secrets of Success” on behalf of @thebiid where we had a great conversation about what it means to be successful (particularly as working mothers) ⚖️

Thank you to @katie___richardson for inviting me to speak about 2 of my favourite subjects 😘

Then it was off to @the_rhs Chelsea Flower show for some outdoor inspiration 🌸🌺🌷

And seeing London in its Jubliee glory is divine!

One of the joys of my job is curating the art and interiors together.

Here’s how I work with clients to do it 👇🏼

🖼 We discuss which particular pieces they would like to show in different areas
🖼 We sanity check sizes with wall sizes at floor plan stage and create visuals where necessary
🖼 At every stage in the design process those are pieces are considered, so will inform the colour choices of the furniture etc.

One of the joys of my job is curating the art and interiors together.

Here’s how I work with clients to do it 👇🏼

🖼 We discuss which particular pieces they would like to show in different areas
🖼 We sanity check sizes with wall sizes at floor plan stage and create visuals where necessary
🖼 At every stage in the design process those are pieces are considered, so will inform the colour choices of the furniture etc.
